CT-29B Programming Interface Cable for Yaesu

  by  Phi DO2QP

This CT-29B programming interface cable can be used for a lot of Yaesu transceivers, which are using the mini-DIN plug (e.g. FT-7800, FT-8800 etc).
You will need a special software for each different transceiver type. For example you can use the well known ADMS software from RT-Systems. For the Yaesu FT-7800 please use the ADMS-2K.

Below you will find the 2 transistor circuit diagram for building your own interface cable. This circuit was tested with the ADMS-2K software and works pretty fine. Using the cable with notebooks could cause errors in some case or does not work properly because of the lower current on the mobile RS232 (maybe lower 10V).

Also pay attention to the Mini-DIN on the diagram! The diagram does not show the plug, but the socket on the transceiver side!!!
